NEMA’s lamp indices for incandescent and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) declined for the second consecutive quarter, falling 14% and 7.5%, respectively, compared to the previous quarter.
Moreover, the year-over-year comparison showed a greater weakening in sales of 23.4% and 17.9% for incandescent and CFLs, respectively.
Despite the decline in sales, the CFL share of residential lamps reached a new high. Slightly more than one in four household lamps (25.3% percent) is a CFL.
